MMBA Moves To Broaden Association Membership
Changes Reflect Commitment To ALL In The Industry
With all the changes in the mortgage industry, the MMBA needs to make changes too! The Board of Directors, in consultation with MMBA membership, felt the best thing for us was to rebrand our association in response to the tougher mortgge industry climate both in Michigan and nationally.
It has become clear to all of us - mostly due to government efforts to attempt to "clean up", "reign in" or otherwise "reform" our industry - that the involvement of ALL of us in the mortgage industry is more important than ever before. No one group can be an island unto themselves any longer. If our industry is to survive then ALL of us in it - brokers, loan officers, appraisers, title companies - all of us, need to work together.
So, we embark on a new enterprise. Beginning after the first of the month, the MMBA will become MAMP -The Michigan Association of Mortgage Professionals.
Our goal is to create an interactive association bringing together everyone involved in the mortgage business:
- Focused on increasing communication to members on the latest happenings in the business throughout Michigan.
- Focused on sorting through all of the latest regulations, laws and educational requirements and getting our members the information and services they need.
- Focused on marshalling the resources of our greater numbers and interests to engage even more effectively in legislative advocacy.
All current MMBA memberships will automatically transfer. There is nothing you need to do - except tell your collegaues and peers of our renewed mission. Ask them to join you as part of an association committed to serving the interests of everyone in the mortgage industry. Our new membership fee will be $99 for a twelve-month membership for all categories of membership.
